Harriet Nordmark, age 92, of Bottineau, died Monday at a Bottineau nursing home. A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 10:00 am at the First Lutheran Church in Bottineau. Burial will be at the Oak Creek Cemetery in Bottineau.
Harriet Nordmark, a daughter of William and Marie (Dörr) Fairweather, was born on April 3, 1919 at Souris, ND. She was reared there and later graduated from Souris High School. She worked as Assistant Post Mistress at the Souris Post Office.
On October 11, 1940, she married Bennie Nordmark at Westhope. They made their home on a farm near Roth where they ran the farming operation and their marriage as a true partnership. They lived on the farm until moving into Bottineau in 2004. On April 11, 2007, she entered the Bottineau Good Samaritan Center.
She was a member of the Lesje Lutheran Church at Souris where she served as Sunday School Superintendent and was active in the church women’s group. She was also a member of the Eureka Rebekah Lodge and the Eidsvold Homemakers.
She is survived by her husband, Bennie of Bottineau; 2 daughters, Coral (Harvey) Hoff of Bottineau and Diane (Ron) Benson of Fort Collins, CO; son, Gary Nordmark (Sandra) of Woodbury, MN; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ona Monson and Genevieve Monson of Bottineau and Marjorie Marzolf of Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 5 sisters and 2 brothers.
