Pearl A. Winters, age 90, of Mountain City, Tennessee, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at the Mountain City Care Center. She was born on July 16, 1924 in Smyth County, Virginia to the late Baxter and Ellen Farmer Parsons. In addition to her parents, Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, James Clinton Winters, son in law, Layton Dollar; sisters; Gertrude McMichael, Della Chappell and Clora Combs and brothers; Bill Parsons, Charles Parsons, Rod Parsons and Emmitt Parsons.
Pearl enjoyed watching television, especially the Atlanta Braves, and listening to gospel music. She loved going to Church and had attended First Freewill Baptist Church. Pearl enjoyed seeing and spending time with her family and will truly be missed.
She is survived by her daughters; Barbara Miller and husband Lane of Trade, TN, Mary Dollar of Mountain City, TN and Linda Blevins and husband Gerald of Laurel Bloomery, TN; sons; James W. Winters and wife Mary of Mountain City, TN, Clinton Winters and wife Debbie of Elizabethton, TN, Bruce Winters and wife Kathy of Mountain City, TN and Michael Winters of Bluff City, TN; twenty two grandchildren, forty three great grandchildren and twenty three great great grandchildren; special friends; Robin Greene, Donna Gentry and Brenda Eldreth and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at First Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Greg Poe and Pastor Steven Spencer to officiate. Music will be by her son Clinton Winters. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. prior to the service.
Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 3,2014 from Sunset Memorial Park with Dan Winters and the Winters Family to officiate. Pallbearers will be Kevin Blevins, Eric Winters, Troy Dollar, David Dollar, A.J. Dollar and Brian Dollar. Honorary pallbearers are Lane Miller, Jonathan Miller, Willis Shearin, Tad Morley and Billy Joe Winters.
