Born in Cheswold, Del., he lived in this area for 60 years. Mr. Reed was employed as a diecaster for the Cox Foundry Co. in Bridgeton for 30 years prior to his retirement 27 years ago.

He also farmed both before and after his retirement from his foundry job.

Mr. Reed was a member of the Fork Branch Baptist Church of Cheswold and also attended the Trinity AME Church in Gouldtown. He was a US Army veteran of World War I.

Surviving are three sons, Robert and Joseph of Cheswold and Isaac E. Reed, Sr. of Bridgeton; three daughters, Marion Hughes, Edna Loatman and Letha [Lethia] Carter* all of Bridgeton; three stepsons, James and John Coker of Cheswold and Frank Coker of Washington, DC; 17 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Carll & Padgett Funeral Home in Cedarville with the Rev. Roland Coker of Central Baptist officiating. Burial will be in Gouldtown Memorial Park.

Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

*Lethia (Coker) Carter was actually a step-daughter, although she's described as a daughter in the obituary. But Lethia had grown up in his & Phebe's household, while the three listed Coker step-sons did not, so that's probably why she's listed as a "daughter."
