Floyd was born Thursday, November 9, 1939 in Hornsby Bend Area to Nathan Meredith and Artie B. Moffett Meredith.
After retiring from years of carpentry work, Floyd spent his time enjoying his grandchildren, following their sports and school activities, fishing, hunting and working his small herd of cattle.
He is survived by his wife, Denise Meredith; two sons, Lloyd Meredith and his wife Trina and Floyd Meredith, Jr. and his wife Patty; six grandchildren, Chris, Kayla, Heather, Kevin, Steven and Dallas; two great grandchildren, Kasen and Jayden; sister, Dora Fogg; two brothers, Luther and Douglas along with his wife Wilma; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive guests at the Elgin Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at the Elgin Funeral Home with Pastor Mylon Avery officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Elgin.
