Jack Clifford Ray, 76, Muscatine, passed away on Monday, September 20, 2010, at Trinity of Muscatine.

Funeral Service will be 7 p.m. on Friday, September 24, 2010, at Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. The Rev. Sharon Phillips will officiate.

Honorary bearers will be Rickie Ray, Michael Ray, Eric Truesdale, Dennis Truesdale, Rod Koenig, Keith Nichols, James Johnson Jr., Ernie Tabor, and William Hucker.

Visitation will be from 5 to7 p.m. on Friday, September 24, 2010, at the funeral home.

A memorial has been established in his name at the funeral home. Jack was born on April 15, 1934, in Muscatine, the son of Ivan Lee Ray and Ethel Hayes Fowlie.

He married Marilyn Forbes on March 11, 1955, in Muscatine. He later married Nancy Charlier on May 28, 1989, in Muscatine.

He worked at Huttig's until their closing and later did various carpentry work. He was a member of NRA, and he loved hunting, fishing, and doing wood carving.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Nancy Ray of Muscatine; his children, LeeAnn Ray of Wapello, Brenda Truesdale and husband, Dennis, Michelle Koenig and husband, Rod, and Rickie Ray, all of Muscatine; four step-children, Keith Nichols, Kimberly Tabor and husband, Ernie, Christi Johnson and James Johnson Jr., all of Muscatine; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a half-brother, Danny Fowlie and wife, Betty, of Muscatine.

He was preceded in death by his parents; maternal and paternal grandparents; and a son, Randy Ray.
