Connor Benjamin Thredgold passed away peacefully on August 22nd, 2014 in the SanChong District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. Cause of death was Carbon Monoxide Poisoning due to a faulty water heater.

Connor had many nicknames his family called him... "Con Man" being one of them. Others were: Benni Hanna, Benji, Connor-Bonnor, Mookie, Angel baby, Precious and many others. We just called him special names for the fun of it.

Connor was born May 9th, 1995 in Mesa, Arizona to Gregory Brian Thredgold and Cindy Kay Smith-Thredgold. He and his missionary companion Elder Yu Peng Xiong, 24, of Kaohsiung, Taiwan received a "transfer" from their missionary labors. The had only been serving together for 3 weeks. Connor had been in Taiwan a total of 15 weeks, Elder Xiong was his 2nd companion.

Connor loved the Phoenix Suns, the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Arizona Cardinals, trail riding, downhill mountain biking, hiking, camping, backpacking, bonfires, skeet shooting, 4wd off-roading and driving his 1983 Chevy Truck: "Old Blue". He raced (hobby grade) RC cars and frequently would buy them, fix them up and sell them for a profit as a way to earn extra money for his mission… he did the same thing with computers. His desire was to attend Universal Technical Institute where his brother Brandon graduated, to become an auto mechanic or Race Car/Monster Truck driver.

Connor's favorite classes at Springville High School were welding and Chinese. He attained the rank of Eagle Scout and his favorite Merit Badge was Metal Work, his least favorite: the Biking Merit badge… due to the pain and suffering he endured months after completing his final 50 mile portion of the requirements.

Connor was called to serve in the Taiwan Taipei mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and received his mission call in mid-October and entered the MTC on March 5th, 2014. He enjoyed his companions and especially loved the people of Taiwan. His emails were full of love and excitement and the photos attached to those emails exuded happiness and contentment. They also revealed the joy he felt as his smiles were bigger than his family ever had seen! He truly loved what he was doing and respected his Mission President, David Day, and his wife, Vicki. He loved his Father in Heaven and had a burning testimony of the Gospel of Christ. He loved being about the work and he did it with an urgency that his companions noticed… and he loved "riding his bike FAST". President Day's highest compliment was that "Elder Thredgold was one of the boldest missionaries" he ever met.

Connor is survived by his Mother and Father, 3 brothers: Brian (Alayna Brian) of Tempe, Arizona; Shane (Autaum Monson) of Eagle Mountain, Utah; Brandon (Caitlin Weidinger) of Elberta, Utah; a niece and nephew Aria and Blake Thredgold. Grandparents Lyman T. Smith (Susan Hagen) of Scottsdale, Arizona; and Joan Jane Bogner-Smith of Salt Lake City, Utah; 4 Uncles, 4 Aunts, and 20 cousins, and his precious puppy Sam. His Grandparents Kevin Thredgold and Donna Taylor-Thredgold, and his precious dogs Bingo and Hinkley preceded Connor in death.

Connor's Viewing will take place from 6pm to 8pm September 19, 2014 at the Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South, Springville, Utah. Funeral Services will be held at 11am, September 20th, 2014 at the Springville West Stake Center, 996 West Center Street, Springville, Utah, with a visitation prior to the services from 9:30am to 10:45am.

Interment will be in the Springville City Cemetery.

Our many thanks and humble gratitude for those who have sent cards, letters and well wishes. For those whose acts of service have touched our hearts and given us comfort and peace. For President and Sister Day for their watchful care of Connor following his death. For Bishop Dennis Boyer and Stake President, Blake Rapier for their continued support of us and their watchful care as we were informed and have made plans for Connor's arrival home. For our "Uncle" Tom McHoes, who has fielded questions and supported us through this. For his wife Audra McHoes who has co-ordinated efforts to feed and comfort us… and for our many Ward and Stake members who have seen to our needs… surely you have done it unto "the least of these".
