He was raised as a Master Mason in 1959 by Belleview Lodge No. 716 F.&A.M., and was also a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason since 1959. Survived by wife, Mary Edith Boone Smith; [some survivor information omitted to protect privacy]; sisters, Mary E. Nicholson, ..., Elizabeth Adams, Reba Powell,...; brothers, ...; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren. A Masonic graveside service will be conducted 11 A.M. Thursday, June 29, 2000, Woodlawn Memorial Park, by Belleview Lodge No. 716 F.&A.M. Nephews and grandsons to serve as pallbearers.
