Mildred A Cobb, 97, of Bradenton, Fla., and formerly of Van Wert, died at 2 a.m. Friday, December 19, 2003, at Casa Mora Rehabilitation in Bradenton.
She was born January 18, 1906, in Leipsic, the daughter of the late John O. and Mallie (Miller) Bowden. On April 4, 1923, she married Forrest H. Cobb, who died in 1989.
Mrs. Cobb was a retired employee of the former Van Wert Manufacturing Company, and a lifelong member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Van Wert.
She is survived by a son, Roger Cobb of Bradenton; one sister, Catherine Yarger of Port Huron, Mich., and five grandchildren, Donna Conley of West Jefferson, David Cobb of Johnstown, Christine Burtch of Big Rapids, Mich., Bruce Cobb and Cindy Nelson.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Howard Cobb and David Cobb, who died in infancy; three brothers; four sisters, and three grandchildren, Susan Cobb Read, Jeffrey Cobb and Forrest “Woody” Cobb.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday, December 26, at Brickner Funeral Home in Van Wert, the Rev. Joachim Wilck officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Van Wert. Calling hours are from 10 a.m.-noon Friday, December 26, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made on behalf of Mrs. Cobb to Horace Mann Elementary School in Van Wert.
