Mrs. Clara H. Best, 73, wife of the late John Charles Best, died Saturday, August 16, 2014, at McLeod Regional Medical Center, after an illness.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A. M., Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at Palmetto Street Church of God, Florence. Interment will follow at 3:00 P. M., Wednesday at Berkeley Memorial Gardens, Moncks Corner, SC.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P. M., Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton.

Mrs. Best was born on October 28, 1940 in Florence County, a daughter of the late Lonnie and Ila Osborne Alexander. She retired from Walmart in Florence and was a member of the Palmetto Street Church of God, where she taught Sunday School and she also taught Sunday School at Honorage Nursing Home.

To her family and friends, she was “one in a million”.

Surviving are her daughters of Panhandle, TX, of Florence and of Broken Arrow, OK; sons both of Summerville; sixteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; nephew; sister of Coward and brother of Catawba, SC.

Mrs. Best was preceded by eleven brothers and sisters.
