Charlie graduated from Bruce High School in 1967. He was a United States Army veteran and retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 2005 after 37 years of service.
Charlie also served as commander of The American Legion Post #293, in Purcellville, Virginia.
He was survived by his wife of 43 years, Patricia "Patti" (Riley) Kalbaugh, and children: Tracy Gallagher and husband, Brian, of Leesburg, VA; Kevin Kalbaugh and wife, Olivia, of Leesburg, VA; and Eric Kalbaugh, of Leesburg, VA. He was also survived by his grandchildren: Gaby, Adriana, Brady, Sophia, and Brooke; and by his siblings: Sandra "Sandy" (Kalbaugh) Keller Shay, and husband, Paul, of Severn, MD; Karen (Kalbaugh) Kelly, and husband, Paul, of Westernport, MD; and stepbrother Marshall E. Broadwater, of Westernport, MD.
Interment was in Philos Cemetery, Westernport, MD, with the Reverend Garrett Carskadon presiding. Military honors were accorded at the graveside.
