Hannah Bissell, d. of Nathaniel Bissell and his 1st wife Mindwell Moore, b. of record Jan. 12, 1670[-71] at Windsor, Conn. She d. of record Jan. 24, 1708[-09] at Windsor (g.s.) In her father Nathaniel Bissell's will dated Sept. 23, 1713, Hannah was already dead and "I give to my daughter Hannah Bancroft's six children 20s apiece." Hannah's six living sisters were each given substantial sums in the will.

Hannah is interred at the Town of South Windsor, but d. of record at the Town of Windsor. South Windsor was incorporated from the Town of East Windsor in 1845, and East Windsor, the portion of ancient Windsor east of the Conn. River, was incorporated from the Town of Windsor in 1768.

On an unrecorded date by 1689 (the date is a blank) at Windsor, Hannah m. 1) Tahan Grant, Jr., s. of Tahan Grant and Anna (q.v. Hannah) Palmer, b. of record Sept. 27, 1665 at Windsor. He d. intestate at Windsor Apr. 21, 1693. They had two children (Hannah and Thomas) whose births are not recorded, but are named including their ages in Tahan's inventory record at the Hartford, Conn. Probate District.

On an unrecorded date by 1697, Hannah m. 2) as his 1st wife, Lieut. Samuel Bancroft, s. of Thomas Bancroft and Margaret Wright, b. Jan. 25, 1666/7 at Westfield, Mass. He d. testate Nov. 29, 1742 at Windsor, Conn. Four children of the marriage (Margaret, Eunice, Nathaniel, Elizabeth). Samuel m. 2) Feb. 23, 1709/10 at Windsor, Joanna Gillett, the widow of Thomas Allyn.
