Phoebe Leasure was run over and killed by No. 3 Saturday. Her body was horribly mangled and scattered along the track for a hundred yards. Kind hands picked it up and at 5 o'clock that evening Rev. Larrick preached her funeral and she was buried in the new grave yard.

George Leisure of Woodburn was in town Monday, He is the son of the old lady who was run over by the cars and killed last week. He says the statement in last week's DEMOCRAT that his mother wore a dress made of flour sacks is not correct, as she had on a brand new calico dress when the pilot of the locomotive struck her. He says the statement that she was a county charge is also incorrect. Several years ago she received temporary aid from the county, he says, but was never on the permanent pauper list.
