Marie Flavie Messier Pain was the beloved daughter of Joseph Messier and Rose Rosealie Bourbeau. Marie was born on Sep. 17, 1839 at St. Simon, Montérégie Region, Québec, Canada and died on Aug. 17, 1922 in Fall River, Bristol Co., MA at age 82 years and 11 months. In an 1851 Census, Marie, at age 11, lived in Saint Mathias in Rouville Co., Québec, Canada. Marie married Damase Pain on Nov. 01, 1862 in Chambly, Montérégie Region, Québec, Canada at the church of Saint Joseph.

Her Brother, Michel Messier was born on July 11, 1842 in Saint Simon, Québec, Canada and died on Jan. 9, 1917 in Fall River, Bristol Co., MA. Michel married Marie Pepin on May 30, 1869 in Richelieu, Québec, Canada. She was born Abt. 1842 in Québec, Canada and died in Fall River, Bristol Co., MA. In an 1861 Canadian Census, Marie Messier, age 19, was Roman Catholic. Her home, at that time, was in Chambly, East Canada. Marie's birthplace was in Lower Canada.

In an 1880 Census, Damase Pain, age 40, worked in a cotton mill and Marie Pain, age 39, worked in House keeping. On June 14, 1880, Damase and Marie Pain were living in Fall River, Bristle Co., MA. Their family were members of Notre Dame De Lourdes, a French Canadian Catholic Church located on 529 Eastern Ave in Fall River, Bristol Co., MA. Their address was 398 Pleasant Street in Fall River, Bristol Co., MA. Two of Damase and Marie's children, Filaase, age 15, and Victoria, 13, also worked in the Mill.

In the Year 1888 the Pain's address was 452 Pleasant St., Fall River, MA. In 1908, Damase Pain Moved to Brockton, MA, address was 36 Emmet St., Brockton, Plymouth Co., MA. In a 1910 Census, Damase Pain, age 71, lived with his daughter, Victoria Deschamps, in Brockton, Plymouth Co., MA. In a 1910 Census, Marie Pain, age 68, lived with her daughter, Marie Pain Damour, in Fall River, Bristol Co., MA. According to a 1910 city directory, Marie Pain, also lived with her daughter Flora Pain at 59 Bassett Street in Fall River, Bristol Co., MA.

In a Jan. 15, 1920 Census, Marie Pain, Age 78, lived in Fall River, Ward 6, Bristol Co., MA. As mother-in-law, Marie Pain lived with her daughter Regina Desautels and her husband Joseph Desautels. According to a Massachusetts Death certificate, Marie died on August 17, 1922. Her last known residence was 211 McGowan Street, Ward 6, Fall River, Bristol Co., MA. Most likely, Marie was living with her daughter, Albina Pain Trudeau, and her husband, Damase Trudeau, who also lived at the same address. Marie Messier Pain had lived in Fall River, Bristol Co., MA for 48 years in the United States for 50 years.
