She was born March 8, 1929, in Kenney, daughter of Ray and Opal Walters Mears. She married Thomas Cundiff. She later married Joseph Fred Anderson. He passed away in 1967.
Survivors include her children, Kathy (late Roger) Buggar, Weldon; Lori (Phil) White, Bloomington; and Edna (Dee) Morgan, Decatur; daughters-in-law, Leslie Cundiff, Wapella, and Eva Anderson, Bloomington; seven grandchildren, Pat (Lisa) Buggar, Mowequa; Steve Buggar, Joshua Buggar and Amy (Allan) Taylor, all of Weldon; Joseph (Marlyn) Pumphrey, Washington; Dakota Giles and Elizabeth Morgan, Decatur; sister, Sharon (Bill) Stephenson, Clinton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, James; two stepsons; two stepdaughters; three brothers and one sister
She was a member of the Royal Neighbors, Kenney Alumni Association and Crang Bennett American Legion, Clinton.
She worked for 26 years in Clinton and Decatur nursing homes, cooked at the R&R Café in Clinton and was a foster grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, with Jan Dial, Decatur Memorial Hospital hospice chaplain, officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Kenney. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Viola Anderson Memorial Fund.
