Turner C., SFC (Ret.), 69, Lawton, died Saturday, June 15, 1996 in a Fort Sill hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born March 15, 1927 in Huntington, Tx. He married Marga Niess on July 3, 1954 in Ulm, Germany. Sgt. Sharp retired from the Army in 1967 after 23 years of service. He began a second career with the City of Lawton Police Dept. working as a dispatcher until he retired in 1988 with 20 years of service. He was a loving husband and father who cherished his grandchildren, Charles and Renee'. Sgt. Sharp spent his retirement fishing, gardening, and caring for his dog, Meddy. He is survived by his wife, Marga Sharp, of the home; son, Peter Sharp and his wife Pamela, of Little Axe, Ok; 3 sisters, Norma Youngblood, Mary Duke, Lillie Wiggins, all of Lufkin, Tx; 3 brothers, Arthur Lee Denman, David Denman & Walter Denman; 2 grandchildren, Charles & Renee' Sharp of Little Axe, Ok; numerous nieces, nephews & cousins. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Chaplain (Major) Calvin L. Eastham, and Rev. Robert Russell officiating. Entombment with full military honors will be in the Chapel of Peace Mausoleum at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
