Jake Marrion Norris was the beloved son of Rufus Edward Norris Jr. and Goldie Ann Holmes Barnes. Jake was also the beloved husband of Martha Prevatte of Lumberton, NC. Jake was born on May 21, 1926 in Lumberton, Robeson Co., NC and died Aug. 9, 2008 in Lumberton, Red Springs, Robeson Co., NC at the age of 82.

Obituary of Jake Marrion Norris

Jake Marrion Norris, 82, of 121 Sanford Street, died Saturday, August 9, 2008 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center. He was born to the late Edward and Goldie Holmes Norris on May 21, 1926 in Columbus County.

He is survived by 2 sons, Glenn Norris and wife, Deborah and Buster Norris and wife, Susan both of Lumberton; 3 daughters, Brenda Tyner and husband, Nathan of Lumberton, Sherry Norris of Lumberton and Lisa Oxendine of Maxton, NC; 1 sister, Dianne Pittman of Lumberton; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.

The graveside service will be Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at New Hollywood Cemetery with Rev. Tony Stevens and Rev. Glenn Grant officiating.

The family will receive friends Monday, August 11, 2008 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc.
