Per his death certificate found on Ancestry.com: he was a son of Oliver K. Stevenson and Blanche Emma Walborn. He was widowed at the time of his death and his spouse is not named. His DOB is given as Sept. 10th. He resided at Rt 1, Box 36 (or 38) in Columbia and died at the Vets. Adm. Hospital of thrombosis of the right coronary artery due to arteriosclorosis. The informant was his daughter Dorothy S. Rembert of Camden, S. C.

His WWI Draft Registration Card gives his DOB as Sept 11th in conflict with his death certificate. He signed this card therefore the date of Sept 11 is used for this memorial. The card also provided his place of birth.

Found in The State 28 September 1960: Amos Walborn Stevenson, 67, of Rt. 1, Columbia, retired employe of Morrell Meat Packing Company, died yesterday afternoon at the VA hospital. Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Stevenson had lived in Columbia for the past 42 years where he was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War I. His wife, Norah Ellen Lawson, died in June 1959. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Rembert, Camden, and Mrs. Mary Ellen Myers, Richmond, Va.; a sister, Mrs. Blanche Aungest, Philadelphia; the following grandchildren, Miss Dorothy Esther Rembert, Camden, Miss Patricia Ann McManus, Columbia, Miss Edith Ann Myers and Stevie Myers, both of Richmond, Va.
