Mallory Shiflett, 68, of the Lake Creek Community, Lindale, Rte. 1, died Wednesday evening in a Cedartown hospital following an illness of several months.

Mr. Shiflett was born in Polk County on July 29, 1904, son of the late B.W. and Destie Brown Shiflett. He had spent the greater part of his life in Floyd County. He was a retired farmer and realtor and a member of Wesley Chapel Methodist Church.

Mr. Shiflett is survived by his widow, the former Eva Nichols; three daughters, Mrs. Marcelle McKinney of Cedartown; Mrs. Mildred McVey of Ocala, Fla.; and Miss Myra Shiflett of Lindale; three brothers, E. P. Shiflett, Robert Shiflett and Henry Shiflett, all of Cedartown; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 3 p.m. in the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. The Revs. Ray Rampy and Ira Spiers will officiate. Interment will be in the family lot of North View Cemetery, Cedartown.

Active pallbearers will be Albert Shiflett, Steve Shiflett, Howard Nichols, Eddie Shiflett, Herman Cain, and Dewey Shiflett.

The body will lie in state at the residence until time for services.

Henderson-Frazier Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
