Mildred Vaneta Smith, 99, of Crawford, was welcomed into her heavenly home on Saturday, July 26, 2014. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, July 29, at the Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum with Pastor Wayne Blackshear officiating. Burial will be in Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, July 28, 2014, at Waco Memorial Funeral Home.

Mildred Vaneta was born in Lorena, Texas, to the late Samuel Torrance and Mytle Allie (Butts) Crenshaw. She married Hubert 'Abe' Smith on July 18, 1931 in Waco. She was called "Neta" by family and friends. She retired from Owen-Illinois Glass after 30+ years of service. Neta loved to play bingo, dominoes, go fishing, travel, and spend time with family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Hubert in 1978; son-in-law, Sgt. Earl Lee Tunmire in 1964; six sisters; one brother, John Crenshaw in 2008, and one grandson, Barry Ray Tunmire in 1955.

Survivors include her daughters, Billie Jean Humphus and husband, Bill, of Crawford, and Wanda Janell Tunmire, of Waco; grandsons: Earl Tunmire and wife, Pat, from Rockwall, Larry Tunmire and wife, Suzanne, of Hewitt, and Darren Tunmire, of Waco; great-grandchildren: Tina Fields and husband, Craig, Stacey Winget and husband, Jeff, Amy Wehr and husband, Jeff, Valerie Tunmire, Billy Earl Tunmire and Audra; seven great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Syble O'Bryant, Doll Smith, Alleen Smith , and Ruby Crenshaw; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and numerous friends.
