Mrs. Callahan was a native of Fayetteville, attended Full Gospel Bible Church of God in Franklinville and retired from Dixie Furniture of Asheboro after 23 years of service. She was a loving wife, mother and enjoyed cooking and planting her flowers. Mildred loved her family very much and was a friend to whomever she met. She is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband: Ray Callahan, daughters: Brenda Yow Pierce and husband Ronald of Roxboro, Patsy Yow McClintock of Asheboro and Vickie Yow Batchelor and her husband Terry of Franklinville; sons: Charles Larry Yow of Franklinville and Tommy Ray Yow and wife Shelia of Pleasant Garden; 10 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren; sisters: Dorothy B. Greene and Betty Auman both of Asheboro; brother: William "Sonny" Boykin of Carolina Beach.
The family will receive friends this evening Tuesday, July 22, 2014 from 6 – 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Full Gospel Bible Church of God, NC 22 North, Franklinville with Rev. Terry Bachelor and Rev. Ron Pruitt officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park in Asheboro.
