OBITUARY - Rosewood Funeral Home

James Robert "Jim" Jordan, 76 of Humble, Texas, passed away peacefully from complications related to leukemia at M.D. Anderson Hospital on July 16, 2014. Jim confessed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was ready to go home to be with the Lord.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Northeast Houston Baptist Church in Humble, Texas. Rev. Nathan Lino and Rev. James Jordan Jr.will be officiating. Visitation will be held from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 25, 2014 at Rosewood Funeral Home in Humble.

Jim was born in Sweeny, Texas on September 18, 1937. He graduated from Sweeny High School and received his Bachelor's Degree from Indiana University. Jim was married to Christine Jordan on February 12, 1981; they were married 33 wonderful years.

Jim worked many different jobs in logistics for the oil and gas industry both internationally and domestically. He enjoyed living abroad and living amongst people of different cultures. He was an outgoing and vivacious man who never met a stranger. Recently Jim had retired and enjoyed spending much of his time as a "Papa," golfer, Master Mason with the Huffman Masonic Lodge, and volunteer at Farrington Mission as a member of Northeast Houston Baptist Church.

Jim is survived by his wife, Christine; sister, Dixie McDonald; son, James Jordan Jr. and wife, Christine Jordan; son, Michael Jordan and fiancé, Diana Winkelman; grandchildren, Jessica and Hannah Jordan, and many extended family members.

Jim is preceded in death by his parents, James Broughton Jordan and Mattie Lee Jordan, of Sweeny, Texas; and his brother, Joe B.Jordan and sister-in-law, Delores Jordan.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Farrington Mission, 3625 Gager Street, Houston, TX 77093 or M.D. Anderson Cancer Center https://gifts.mdanderson.org. The family wishes to thank M.D. Anderson Cancer Center for their wonderful treatment many years ago which helped to extend Jim's life by 12 years and to the nurses and staff of the 8th, 16th, and 17th floors as well as the many wonderful doctors who treated him in the past few months.

While we will miss Jim every day, we rejoice that his illness and suffering has ended and that we will see him again in Heaven.
