Mrs. Glen (Isabelle M.) DeHaven, 78, died suddenly at her home on New Monmouth Cut-Off Friday from a heart attack. She had been in her usual health previously.
Mrs. DeHaven was born in Peterboro, Ontario, Canada, March 14, 1883, daughter of James and Abigail Mann Elliott. The family had come to Oregon from Canada and she had been a teacher in the Dallas schools for three years from 1908 to 1910. She married Mr. DeHaven in Dallas Oct. 12, 1910 and they lived a few months in Portland before returning here to spend the balance of their lives.
She had been a member of the Dallas Methodist church for 65 years and was active in the WSCS and WCTU over a long period. She was a graduate of Oregon Normal School, Monmouth, prior to teaching here. She and Mr. DeHaven celebrated their golden wedding last fall.
Surviving are the husband, Glen, and two sons, Wendell, who lives next door and operates the farm, and Clark DeHaven, Bartlesville, Okla. There are three grandchildren, James and Jean Isabelle DeHaven, Dallas, and Bruce DeHaven, Bartlesville, Okla. Mrs. Conrad (Millie) Stafrin, Dallas, and Dr. Bert R.
