MRS. A.F. LADD
Mrs. Arthur F. Ladd, the former Hazel Doretta Hunger, died ver suddenly at her home, Lyn, Sunday afternoon, Feb. 4, at the age of 69 years. In apparent good health she suffered a sudden heart attack.
She was born at Gladstone, Ont., May 2, 1982, a daughter of the late Paul Hunter and his wife, the former Esther Lumley. She was raised and educated at Gladstone and was married in Hazenmore, Sask., December 2, 1914, to Arthur F. Ladd.
After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Ladd returned east and settled in the Lyn district, operating a farm at Lake Street, later moving into the village of Lyn, where they had resided for the past 35 years.
Mrs. Ladd was a member of the Christ United Church, Lyn, and had been active in its different women's organizations. However her first interest centered in her home and family.
Besides her husband she leaves two daughters. Mrs. Jack Perkins (Esther), of Athens, and Mrs. William Pullan (Mildred)., of Brockville; three sons Arnold, Orville and Harry, all of Lyn, as well as 16 grandchildren, one broth Wellington Hunter, of London, Ont., and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Lawrence in 1940 and by a brother Harvey Hunter in Saskatchewan.
The remains rested at the Johnston Funeral Home, Brockville, until Wednesday afternoon when the funeral service was held in Christ United church, Lyn, at two o'clock with Rev. Trevor Richards officiating. Interment was made in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Maitland.
