Julia Ann Massie, 77, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born on October 17, 1931 in Woodstock, OH, the daughter of Ralph and Goldie (Wells) Ropp.
She was a lifelong member of the DAV. She also loved to crochet.
Julia is survived by her children, Theresa Massie of Mechanicsburg and Danny (Theresa) Massie of Springfield two grandchildren, Judi McDermott and Holly Massie; one great grandson, Blaze Kelley; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bernard; brothers, Joseph and Ralph Ropp; sisters, Edith Cottrill, Nellie Tussing, Glenna Kendall, Inez Mason, Betty Mirrell, and Martha Jacks.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, 2009 in SKILLMAN, MCDONALD, & VERNON Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 on Monday, June 15, 2009 in the funeral home with Pastor Brian Massie officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Cable.
