Samuel Bruce Neely, 84, of Little Rock, passed away at home on Monday, Nov. 17, 2003. He was born June 6, 1919 at Little Rock. He was an employee of Entergy for 30 years and 9 months as a Senior Cable Splicer. He was in the U.S. Army in World War II, unit 264, as a maintenance mechanic.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Bobbie C. Neely; two daughters: Phyllis Jane Murphy of West Monroe, La., and Gloria Jean Rutherford and her husband Kenneth of Sheridan, Ar.; seven grandsons; one granddaughter; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Clarence Edward Neely and wife Juanita of Little Rock, Ar.
There will be a graveside service for Mr. Neely Thursday, Nov. 20 at 10 a.m., with Rev. Jim Phillips of Truth Ministries officiating. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Mr. Neely will lie in state today (Wednesday) from 1 until 7 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 West 12th St., Little Rock, Arkansas (661-9111).
