Birth: Jan. 16, 1830
Morgan County
West Virginia, USA
Death: Jan. 15, 1923
Wabash County
Indiana, USA

Andrew J. Bruner, 92 one of the oldest and best know farmers of Wabash county, died at 11:30 today at his home in Lafontaine from a complication of diseases due to the infirmities of age. The beginning or Mr. Bruner's last illness dates from a fall sustained two years ago, but he had been bedfast only two weeks. Early in January, his illness began to manifest alarming symptoms and since that time he has failed steadily both mentally and physically. He sank into a coma Saturday morning and never rallied.

Mr. Bruner was known as one of the substantial men of the community in which he lived. Quiet and unassuming, he was nevertheless quite generally known, more especially in and around Lafontaine, near which town he lived for many years on a farm. His business honor and integrity were unquestioned. He was known as a consistent member of the Methodist church and has been actively identified with the Lafontaine body since its organization.

Mr. Bruner would have been 93 years old tomorrow, having been born Jan. 16, 1830 in Morgan County, Virginia. He was the son of Henry and Elinor Bruner and came with his parents to Ohio when yet an infant. After six months there, the family came to Wabash County, settling on a farm southeast of Lafontaine.

There Mr. Bruner lived until his marriage to Phebe Ann Thomas in 1861, after which the couple moved to a farm west of Lafontaine where they lived many years and which Mr. Bruner still owns.

Surviving are Mrs. Bruner and four Children: Mrs. Alex Fulton, of Lagro; T. H. Bruner, of Wabash; Miss Anna Bruner, at home; and Wellman Bruner, of Spikerville. There are four grandchildren, Mrs. Halbert, Philips, of Memphis, Tenn.; Miss Pauline Fulton, of Lagro; Mrs. Herman Schmaizried, of Texas; and Miss Consuela Bruner, of Spikerville.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 at the Lafontaine Methodist church, Rev. F. E. Fribley officiating. Burial will be made in the Lafontaine cemetery.

Monday Evening January 15 1923, Wabash Plain Dealer, Wabash, Indiana
