Helen Grace Althoff, formerly of Emmitsburg and of Gettysburg, entered into Heavenly rest February 4.

She was the daughter of the late Edward and Ruth Riffle Smith.

Mrs. Althoff was a member of St. Anthony’s Shrine Parish in Emmitsburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Francis Althoff, who departed this life August 4, 1985, and surviving are four children, Marie McNair, Ed Althoff, and Kitty Cool, all of Emmitsburg, and Ann Little of Thurmont, MD; three sisters, Mary Krom and Ruth Hobbs of Emmitsburg, and Elizabeth Richardson of Washington, DC; two brothers, Edward Smith, Jr., of Emmitsburg and Lewis Smith of Rocky Ridge, MD; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Charles Smith, Richard Smith, James Smith, and Karl Smith; one sister, Betty Hahn; and one grandson.

Interment was in St. Anthony’s Shrine Cemetery.
