Harold Lee Amos Jr., 57, of West Alexander, died unexpectedly Tuesday, April 11, 2006, in his home, following an automobile accident last Tuesday.
He was born January 2, 1949, in Wheeling, W.Va., a son of Carrie Roberta "Bertie" Watson Amos of West Alexander and the late Harold Lee Amos Sr.
He was a member of West Alexander United Methodist Church.
Mr. Amos was a 1967 graduate of McGuffey High School and served in the U.S. Army.
He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 66 and was a self-employed heavy equipment operator.
Mr. Amos was a member of American Legion Post 656, West Alexander, and Claysville Masonic Lodge 447, F & AM.
He enjoyed sports, having coached girls softball and boys baseball, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters.
On October 12, 1972, in Winchester, Va., he married Karen Sue Conkey, who survives.
Surviving, in addition to his mother and wife, are a daughter, and two granddaughters.
Deceased, in addition to his father, is a daughter, Brandy Lea Amos, who died in 1983.
