Circus Performer. A member of the famous family of aerialists, 'The Flying Wallendas.' The son of Herman Wallenda, and the nephew of Karl Wallenda. He began training on the wire at the age of five. In 1944 he helped rescue several people during the Hartford Circus Fire on July 6, 1944, in Hartford, Connecticut, and in 1962, he was one of the only people left standing when the Seven-Man Pyramid collapsed during a January 30, 1962, perfomance in Detroit, Michigan. He later married, returned to school, graduated, got a University Degree from college, and became a history and geographer teacher, all while training other performers the high wire act. He died in March 1996, at the age of 68. (bio by: Peterborough "K")
