Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon for Emery Elliott, who died at his home in Winamac Thursday evening following an extended illness. The final rites were conducted at the Fry & Lange funeral home, with the Rev. O. L. Collier in charge. Burial was in the Winamac Cemetery. Mr. Elliott, who was born March 27, 1872, spent his early years in Jasper County, coming to this vicinity nearly thirty years ago. He was married on December 28, 1910 to Mrs. Martha Oglesby, who survives. Also surviving are six children: daughters; Mrs. Bessie Lowery and Mrs. Sarah Polen of Winamac, Mrs. Blanche Overmyer of Mishawaka, and Mrs. Jane Drach of Frankfort; sons, Milford of Winamac and Melvin of Gary; three stepchildren; Mrs. Lessie McKinsey of Winamac, George Oglesby of Chicago and Maurice Oglesby of Frankfort; two brothers, James of Medaryville and Asa of Mishawaka; a sister, Mrs. Martha Spriggs of Rensselaer; two half-brothers, Warren Swisher of Wheatfield and William Elliott of Canada, and a step-sister, Mrs. Alice Campbell of Medaryville.
