Claire E. Locke, 84, of Mt. Carmel, passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at Deaconess Hospital, Evansville, Indiana.
She was born on July 5, 1926 in Mt. Carmel, IL, the daughter of Charles and Helen (Thompson) Campbell. She married David A. Locke, Jr. on June 24, 1950 and he preceded her in death on May 23, 1997.
Claire was a member of Evangelical United Methodist Church. She retired from Mt. Carmel High School, were she taught Spanish Teacher for 34 years.
She is survived by her children, Douglas Alan (Robin) Locke and Stuart Campbell (Kathy) Locke; sister, Joyce Beals; and five grandchildren, Andrew (Nikole) Locke, Leslie (Gary) Bullio, Elizabeth (Chris) Goodman, Carolyn Locke and David Locke; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Preceeding her in death were her parents; Charles and Helen Campbell; and husband, David Locke.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday December 8th, 2010 at Cunningham Funeral home for David and Claire from 5-7pm. Private graveside service will be held at Highland Memorial Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Helen Campbell Scholarship Fund.
