Funeral Thursday for Vince Delperdang
Vincent Delperdang, a lifelong Remsen resident, died Tuesday, November 10 at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars after a long illness. He was 74 years old.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 Thursday morning, November 12 at St. Mary's Catholic Church here. Msgr. F. P. Schultes officiated and burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Mr. Delperdang was born July 6, 1896 at Remsen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Delperdang. His marriage to Anna Murray took place July 11, 1922 at Kingsley, Iowa. He was a veteran of World War I and had farmed near Remsen many years before retiring.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving are his widow, Anna; a son, Wayne of Granville, Ia.; a daughter, Mrs. Martin (Arlene) Peters Jr. of Remsen; two sisters, Mrs. John (Blanche) Thill of Remsen and Mrs. Ulrich (Martha) Bunkers of Sioux City; a brother, George of Remsen; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two grandchildren, one brother and two sisters.
Pallbearers were Gerald Delperdang, Cyril Majeres, Roland Thill, Wyman Steffen, Richard Sudtelgte and John Murray.
The Fisch Funeral Home of Remsen was in charge of arrangements.
