Hazel was the youngest child of Cecil W. "Pete" Greer and Mary "Elizabeth" Bilskey. The family lived in Poplar Bluff, Butler County, Missouri.

Hazel married Joe R. Kinder on 06 Oct 1957. They were the parents of 4 children, including a son who died in infancy.

She was a homemaker and dedicated mother. She belonged to the Kearney First United Methodist Church for many years.

At the time of her death at Liberty Hospital, Hazel was 77 years, 1 month and 28 days old. She was survived by 2 daughters and sons-in-law; 1 son and daughter-in-law; 6 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandson.

In addition to her son, Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, who passed away in 1990; 1 granddaughter, Suzanne Brown; and 5 siblings, Conley Greer, Delmar Greer, Norma St. Clair, Billie Greer and Lanoma Hubbard.

Services were conducted graveside at 3 p.m. on the afternoon of 29 Oct 2012. Arrangements were under the direction of Hidden Valley Funeral Home in Kearney, Missouri.

The family requested that memorials, if desired, be made to the church.
