Mrs. Ruth Hazel Grimes, age 71, of Trion, GA, died Friday, June 20, 2014, at her residence.

Mrs. Grimes was born May 9, 1943, in Cedartown, GA, daughter of the late Raymond DeForrest and Bonnie Francis Wilbanks White. She was a member of the Trion Heights Baptist Church, and prior to her retirement, was employed with Mount Vernon Mills. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Bobbie Smith, Opal Cox, and Mary Rose Carter; and a brother, Jack Bowman.

Mrs. Grimes is survived by her husband, John Carl Grimes, Jr.; a daughter, Kathy Carlene Grimes of Trion, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, William and Lucille Bowman of Ozark, AL, Duke and Pauline Williams of Trion, GA, Gary and Lura Young of Birmingham, AL; sisters, Kathy Newsome of Lyerly, GA, Roxie Davis of Manchester, GA; special friends, Carolyn Dodd, Verlon Thompson, Montyne Thompson, and Jody Thompson.

Funeral services for Mrs. Grimes will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, June 22, 2014, from the Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Waydell Howell and Rev. Leon Craig officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Hugh Teague, Malcolm Dodd, Hazel Millican, Ronnie White, Jerry Corbin, and Cecil Parris. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne McArthur, Todd Thomas, Don Henderson, Butch Camp, Tony Thompson, Peggy Jacobs, Donna Jacobs, Linda Glass, Mark Haygood, Sandra Pledger, Tracy Perkins, and the Main Office personnel of Mount Vernon Mills.

Mrs. Grimes will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Saturday.
