Post from Wayne Morris Wilkins December 2009 in Blue Springs Missouri.

Hello to all on here.
I'm new on here and introducing myself.
I'm wayne and been fly fishing most of my life. Grew up in a fly fishing family in Idaho. I've always loved fishing to the point it's my religion.
I've fished all over this country, from coast to coast. Also for as many different species as I can. The only thing I haven't tackled yet is salt water, which is my next goal.
I've worked in sporting goods in fishing and fly fishing for well over 30 years. I'm now working in the White River fly shop in Bass Pro shop.
But for 14 years, I owned the first fly shop in Lake Tahoe. It was called Sierra High Flies. Worked for Jack Dennis in Jackson Hole, Wyoming in the shop during the Summer and tied flies for him during the winter.
I've taught fly fishing and fly tying in the junior college in Lake Tahoe.
My main goal is to get the beginners going in this great sport! The ones that have wished and wanted to learn to fly fish. To see their faces and smiles when they get their first fish on a fly rod. Catch their first fish on their own fly. Nothing better!
Have fished most of the major rivers and lakes in the West. Also spring creeks and beaver ponds. I'm an explorer and take hikes to find the spots that others don't go and the fish have never been caught and fish alone.
I, fish for what ever can be caught on a fly rod. Love to go after Bluegill in the Spring with my 3wt. and an Hair-sear during their pre spawning feed. In fact the hairear is my favorite fly.....
Well guess I'd better stop for now.
If anyone has any question of me, please ask!
Tight Lines!

Thank you everyone, I'm so glad to be here.
If anyone heads out west to Northern Nevada, California, Central Oregon, Central and Southern Idaho, Utah, Jackson, Wyoming (Yellowstone area ) give me a buzz and I can give you a bunch of places to fish, a lot are where others don't go, but are yet so out in the clear and everyone walks right on by. Some are even right in the city limits of Reno, Nv. ( downtown ) where huge Browns are caught year round. Have fish all of the Truckee river from Tahoe City to Reno, the upper Truckee that flows into Lake Tahoe on the South shore area.
In the Yellowstone area, is Polecat creek which is one mile south of the south gate of Yellowstone between Flag Ranch, huge leader breaking Browns, Cutthroats and Brooks.
On each side of the Snake River by Wilson, Wy. is Spring creeks that are loaded with Brooks and Snake River Cutthroats and no one fishes them. Geezs, I can go on and on.
Mudpuppy, your right, I'm the guy! Just got this new one! My last one crashed when I was putting an anti-virus on it called Web-Root. So everyone don't buy it! It was costly!
I've been asked what flies do you use here by people that come in from the West and I tell them the very same you use there. As far as Nymphs. You can take a Hairsear, Pheasanttail, Prince nymph any where and catch fish! Even Bass, Bluegill, Crappie.
I've been blessed to have fished with John Denver, Robin Williams, Bobby Knight, Len Swan, Rick Heafle, Gary Borger, Taj Mahal and other that are with rock groups that came to Lake Tahoe to play in the Casino's
If I were to say I had an Idol in fly fishing it would be Gary Borger. The most knowledgeable person I've been around. He doesn't bost his ego, but is an educator.
One thing about fishing, is that it doesn't make any difference who you are are your so called social status is. We are all on an equal basis out there on the water.
Only 10% of the fisherman, catch 90% of the fish. There's where I've been blessed again.
No matter how you catch your fish, if it's working for you that's great!
Just remember, a fly out of the water can't catch fish! As Cal Bird told me, " you can be a sloppy caster but if you get your fly on the water, you can catch fish!
