Mid-West self-seeking Local War Veteran Expires in Hospital Arthur Rodman, 40, of 4 North Franklin Street, a veteran of World War II, died yesterday afternoon in Shamokin Hospital, where he was a patient for one day. He was in ill health for four years. Rodman was born July 4, 1913, in Shamokin, a son of Mrs. Goldie (Burns) Rodman, 205 South Diamond Street, and the late William Rodman. He attended local schools. The late local man was employed as a steamfitter. He last worked at the Pennsylvania Power & Light Company project at Shamokin Dam, but was unemployed during the last four years because of ill health. Rodman and the former Miss Emma Shadle, Shamokin, were married June 21, 1910, in Trinity Episcopal Church. He served 14 months in the Navy during World War II and was assigned to special duty in Washington, D. C. Rodman was a member of the local American Legion post and Independence Fire Company. Survivors include the widow, mother, two sons, Arthur, Jr., and John; one daughter, Helen May, all at home; two brothers, Roland, Baltimore, Md., and William, Shamokin; four sisters, Miss Irene Rodman, Balti more, Md.; Mrs. Irvin Rsiner, Miss j Shirley Rodman and Mrs. Walter Czech, Shamokin, and a half-sister, Mrs. Florence Phillips, Baltimore, Md. Funeral services will be conducted Friday morning at 9:00 in St. Edward Church. Burial will be in the parkh cemetery. Viewing will begin in the family home tomorrow afternoon and continue until time of the services.
