Funeral services for Thomas Oliver "Ollie" Millwood, 69, will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 14, 2014 in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Americus, Ga. at noon. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service beginning at 9 a.m.

Mr. Millwood died Wednesday evening, June 11, 2014 at his residence in Sycamore. He was born in Americus, Ga. to the late Ralph Edward Millwood and the late Jewel Law Millwood. He lived the majority of his adult life with his wife and children in Sycamore , Georgia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Helen Bodrey Millwood, and his brother, Eddie Millwood.

Ollie died Wednesday evening, June 11th at his residence in Sycamore. He was born in Americus, Georgia to the late Ralph Edward Millwood and the late Jewel Law Millwood. He lived the majority of his adult life with his wife and children in Sycamore, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Helen Bodrey Millwood, and his brother, Eddie Millwood.
Ollie was the owner and operator of Sycamore Mattress and Upholstery since 1972. He was a true artisan in ulphostery, a craft he learned in his teens in trade school. His work was renowned and sought out by homeowners across South Georgia. He also sold and installed portable office and storage buildings through the 1980's and 90's He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Americus from childhood and also attended Westside Baptist Church in Ashburn.
He was an avid drag racing participant and fan who enjoyed building and racing Chrysler and Dodge cars for the last forty years. He was a 30+ year member of the National Hot Rod Association and a charter member of the South Georgia Mopar Association. Most of his life you could find him at a race track on any given weekend.
Ollie is survived by his children; Kimberly Millwood Muse of Arabi and Tim (Lauren) Millwood of Columbus, Indiana; his sister; Joyce (Johnny) Hooper of Stockbridge, Georgia; his grandchildren: Baylee Muse, Graham Muse, Grant Muse, Connor Millwood, Chase Millwood, and Catherine Millwood: and his great-grandchildren : Levi Muse, Leah Muse and Rylan Muse.
Oliver was my Cousin and will be sorely missed by his relatives and friends, including myself.
