Rev. Marvin H. Arnett, 70, of Flat Rock, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014, at his home.

He was presently attending Bethel Wesleyan Church but was a member of St. Louis Crossing Baptist Church where he had pastored for 21 years. He had also pastored churches in Norristown, Milan and Bloomington over the last 40 years.

He loved gardening and spending time with his family and also enjoyed ministering through his singing.

The funeral will be Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Louis Crossing Baptist Church, 6351 E. County Road 800N, Columbus, with Rev. Gordon Tilley officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope and also one hour prior to the funeral Thursday at the church. Burial will be at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery west of Clifford.

Memorial contributions may be donated to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Born May 20, 1944, in Bartholomew County, Marvin was the son of Virgil and Shirley Williams Arnett. He married Roxie Tague January 1, 1966, in Geneva, Indiana.

Survivors include his wife, of Flat Rock; children, Scott (Terri) Arnett of Freetown, Cris (Monty) Craig of Hope and Tracy (Jim) Bales of New Castle; grandchildren, Amanda (Ross) Weyer, Jared and Brittany Arnett, Logan, Adam, Graham, Sarah and Emma Craig, Chris, Nick, Nathan, Cassie and Cora Bales; stepgrandchildren, Cara Stroud and Matt Mowery; a great-grandchild, Raylee Kay Weyer; stepgreat-grandchild, Treyton Ream; and siblings, Peggy Proffitt of Spraytown, Janice (Clayton) Hyden of Columbus, and Evelyn (Bill) Bass of Canton, Illinois.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Frank Arnett; and his first wife, Neva Gail Lucas Arnett.
