The stroke was the second that the aged man suffered. His first stroke occurred two years ago last November. His condition was critical since Friday.
Ludwig was a retired musician. He resided virtually his entire life in Belleville and was one of the most prominent citizens here.
He was born in this city, December 21, 1861, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Ludwig. He was united in marriage with the former Miss Mary Curran at Alexandria, S. D., September 27, 1905 (or 1895).
He is survived by his widow and two sisters, both of Belleville:
~ Mrs. Ida Perrin, wife of the late Probate Judge Frank Perrin
~ Mrs Emma Hanson, wife of Professor William Hanson
Funeral arrangements have not been completed but the body will be at the Gundlach and Company Chapel until tomorrow.
