When she was 15 she met a young farm hand by the name of Viverne Carl Jarstfer (1908-1988). They were wed in 1926. Their union produced 4 children: Barbra Jean: Beverly Ann, Betty Lou & Charles William.
While Viverne was working, he was still able to complete his studies and earn his degree as an electrical engineer. She stayed busy with household duties, rearing the children, church activities which included her playing the organ and singing in the choir. Through the years she began teaching others to play and she became more prominent within their local church.
In 1969 after retirement, the decision was made to move cross-country to start a new life in New Mexico. Once there, he began as guardian of the local humane society which after a few years they were able to place payment down on a home of their own. They spent the rest of their lives surrounded by family, the garden and hobbies.
Viverne passed away in 1988, for the first time since she left her parents home, she was alone. Her interests in crafts escalated and she spent much of her time doing that. In 1993, she welcomed her second great-grandchild and glorified in being the matriarch of 5 generations. The following year a third great-grandchild was born bearing a version of her name.
June 5,1994, she and her daugher, Bev were returning from a shopping trip when she collapsed into Bevs' arms and later at the hospital passed away. She left much influence on those around her.
