Thomas Wells was born abt 1680 in Queen Annes Town, St Pauls Parish, Prince George County, Maryland, USA. His parents were Thomas Duckett Wells (1653-1718) and Frances (Smith) Wells (1657-1733).

Thomas married Mary Hopkins (1685-1765) on 9 Aug 1705 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Mary Hopkins is the daughter of Gerard William Hopkins (1650-1692) and Thomasine (Baxter) Hopkins (1657-1716).

Thomas and Mary Wells are the parents of the following known children: Mary Wells 1706, Elizabeth Wells 1707-1731, Sarah Wells 1710-1782, Cavenah Wells 1712, Luranah Wells 1712, Thomas Wells 1715, William Wells 1718, Anne Wells 1721-1753, Cassandra Wells 1723 and Samuel Wells 1725.

In the book: "Founders of Anne Arundel and Howard Counties" on page 376, "Alexander Warfield married Mary Harwood, whose mother was Elizabeth Stockett of Thomas and Mary Noble, daughter of Captain Thomas and Mary Wells, whose father was Major Richard Wells of the Puritan Council.
