Obit: Colusa Sun Herald: Wm. Miller, a plain unassuming man, has given up the struggle of life and sleeps as quiet and peaceful as earth's greatest ones. He settled in Colusa county away back in the fifties. We knew him then. In an unfortunate hour he concluded to settle on the east side of the river below Colusa. Some of his neighbors did not like it, although he distrubed no man's rights, and tried to drive him off. He got an unmerciful beating and lost an eye in the encounter besides health and strength. But he was an honest, industrious, saving German, and fought the battle of life against great odds. Time and again floods came and destroyed crops, but he worked undaunted on---worked for fireside, for family, for home, and gave up only at the command of the Great Leveler. His life has been without pomp and show, but he loved his friends; a true heart beat beneath a rough exterior. We are proud of the fact that this simple hearted man always refered to "Billy" in affactionate tones. One by one the old-time friends drop away and a lonely feeling surrounds us. Mr. Miller was 76 years of age, and died March 7th. He leaves a wife, one son, and three daughters, all married.
