Family and friends will gather to celebrate the life of Strelsa C. Greene today, May 24, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday May, 25, 2014, in Lake Ridge Chapel, Lubbock. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at 1:00 p.m. MST, Monday, May 26, 2014, in the Acme Cemetery, Roswell, NM. Our beloved "GG" went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 22, 2014, in Lubbock. Strelsa was born on Jan. 31, 1939, to the late William and Willie (Groves) Calvert in Spur, Tx. She graduated from McMurry University with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. Strelsa married the love of her life, William R. "Billy" Greene on Aug. 20, 1960, in Spur. She taught elementary school for ten years in Texas and New Mexico. She was a member of TIP at McMurray University and the Trinity United Methodist Church, Roswell.
Along with her parents and her husband, Strelsa was preceded in death by four sisters, Dorothy Smallin, Mildred Morris, Melba Reese and Gwendolyn Calvert and three brothers, Bill Calvert, Leland Calvert and Jerry Calvert.
Survivors include her two daughters, Jayme Tetens and husband Darin and Shannon Klimple and husband Keith; four granddaughters, Brittany Duncan, Courtney Calhoun, Kali Klimple and Taylor Tetens; two great grandchildren, Roslyn Vasquez and Alexander Duncan and two sisters, Mary Jo Williams and Jean Hamblet.
