HOUSTON ? Dorothy Jean Ashbaugh Adoue, 75, passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2005, at the West Houston Medical Center Hospital. She was born in Kansas City, Missouri on July 17, 1930, to Charles Austin Asbaugh and Dorothy Baker Asbaugh. Dorothy received her BA degree in 1952 from the University of Texas, where she was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority. On March 19, 1955, she married Jacques P. Adoue, Jr., of Houston, Texas. Dorothy retired from DOW Chemical, USA and spent many years as a volunteer at The Guild Shop, for St. John the Divine, in Houston, Texas.
Dorothy is survived by her brother, Edward R. Ashbaugh and wife, Sylvia, of Houston, Texas; sister Beverly A. Mayse and husband, Donald, of Austin, Texas; son Jacques P. Adoue, III, of Austin, Texas, daughter, Ritchie A. Adoue of Galveston, Texas; grandchildren Jacques P. Adoue, IV and Marian Paige Adoue of Jackson, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2005, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Forest Park Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer, in Houston. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2005, at Forest Park Cemetery, 12800 Westheimer, Houston, with the Rev. Posy Jackson officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to a charity of choice.
