Lois F. Coffman, 90, Kokomo, went to be with our heavenly Father at 5:53 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2006 at Saint Joseph Hospital and Health Care Center, Kokomo.

She was born on March 24, 1915 in Peru to Louis and Florence (Williams) Marburger. She married Eugene D. Coffman on December 25, 1940 in her parents home in Peru, and he preceded her in death on March 16, 1989 in Marion.

Coffman had worked at the Farmer's State Bank in Converse, Kmart in Kokomo and retired as assistant manager from G.C. Murphy's Department Store in the Kokomo Mall. She attended elementary school in Peru and Logansport and graduated in 1933 from Converse High School. She was a member of First Christian Church of Kokomo. Lois enjoyed spending good times with her family and friends, traveling and mushroom hunting. She will be sadly missed by her adoring family and her cat, Millie.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Florence and Dennis Pogue, Kokomo; son and daughter-in-law Robert and Betty Coffman, Louisville, Ky.; grandchildren Karyl Pogue, Kokomo, Brian Pogue, Frankfort and Brent Pogue and wife Kristy, Frankfort. She is also survived by Staff Sergeant Patrick Coffman (currently in Iraq) and wife Jill of Cranberry Twp., Pa., Christopher Coffman and wife Holly of Huntersville, N.C., Kevin Coffman and wife Kristen of Odenville, Ala.; eight great-grandchildren: Justin Pentland, Nichole McGrew, Savannah Coffman, Cassidy Coffman, Melissa Pogue, Ty Pogue, Tyler Coffman and Colton Pogue; her identical twin sister Eunice Carey, Marion; sister and brother-in-law Mary and Max Mitchell of Flora; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Ruth Lee of Converse and Olive Lee of South Bend; and brother Harold Marburger of Indianapolis.


Services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m. at Ellers Mortuary Webster St. Chapel, 3400 S. Webster St., Kokomo, with Rev. Ken Byland officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Greentown.

Calling is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the chapel. Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association.
