She was a daughter of Lambert and Lucinda Stump Taylor. She was the mother of journalist Ernest Taylor "Ernie" Pyle. She married William Clyde Pyle November 1, 1899 in Vermillion County, Indiana. They were members of Tennessee Valley Church. They were tenant farmers at the time of Ernie's birth, and lived in a small house, when and where Ernie was born. When Ernie was about a year old, they moved to The Mound with her father Lambert, and remained there until her death, and Will until his death. According to my Grandma Taylor, her name was pronounced Mariah.
