♥ m. 02 Mar 1865, Amite Co, MS, Alethea Ann Berryhill

Alethea and Ephraim were the parents of James B, Maggie, Eliza E, Eunice, and Georgie.

CIVIL WAR:
Confederate Soldier
Co B "Amite Guard", 33rd Miss Inf
Wounded at Peachtree Creek, GA July 20, 1864

POSSIBLE CONTRADICTIONS:
1. Date of death: Confederate Records show Ephraim's death as 1891, but Aleta's obituary would seem to prove that is incorrect, so Ephraim death may have been after May, 1899.
2. 1870 Census: It appears Ephraim and Aletha were not living together at the time of this census; however, in studying the original, the homes were in consecutive numbers. The census taker may have made a mistake on the page. Alethea and children are listed just below Epraim, but with a different number (meaning next door):
Alethea Hughey (23), John B Hughey (4), Margaret A Hughey (1), and Thomas Berryhill (22) . . . cousin of Alethea.
