JESSIE MURVYNE BOOTON, 96, of Opelika AL, formerly of Huntington WV, widow of Percy Booton, died June 4, 2005, at her home. Mrs. Booton was born in Neal WV on July 18, 1908, the daughter of the late Thomas Howard Wilson and Goldie Brumfield Wilson.

She was a graduate of Huntington High School and was a longtime member of the Fifth Avenue Baptist Church, where she served as a Deaconess, and was Secretary-Treasurer of the American Baptist Women. She also served as President of the Beverly Hills Woman's Club, President of the Southwestern District of Federated Woman, President of the State President's Club of the West Virginia Federation, and served several terms on the State Board of the West Virginia Federation. She was a member of the National Parliamentary Association, the Parents and Teachers Association, Secretary and Treasurer of the Huntington Symphony Association, Board member of the Cabell County Cancer Information Center and was active in the Boy's Club of Green Acres. She also served on the Mayor's Advisory Board and was President of the Mother's Club of the Kappa Alpha and Alpha Sigma fraternities of Marshall University.

She is survived by her sons Charles Hanley of Lilburn GA, Eddie M. and wife Pat Booton of Douglasville GA, and Jim and wife Joy Booton of Opelika; brothers Woodrow Wilson of Huntington and Meryle Wilson of Madison TN; grandchildren Brad Booton of Greensboro NC, Charles Booton of Sharpsburg GA, Dale Booton of McDonough GA, and Lisa Granath of Douglasville GA; and great-grandchildren Kristen, Melanie, and Alex.
