From the Dallas Morning News, Sunday, October 21, 1928, Sec. 1, p. 7:
Fort Worth, Texas, Oct. 20 -- George Colvin, 68, died Saturday morning at a local hospital. He had been lingering in a critical condition for two weeks.
When a young man, Colvin, who was born in Missouri, went to West Texas, having settled in Colorado City. For many years, however, he had been a resident of Fort Worth. He was at one time connected with the old American National Bank, first as cashier and finally as president. Following the merging of the American National with the Farmers and Mechanics National, he became vice president and chairman of the board of directors. Ill health forced his retirement, but later he accepted the presidency of the American Bank and Trust Company, which position he occupied at the time of his death. He also was a member of Fort Worth's first City Commission.
Surviving are one son, Malin Pierson Colvin of Duncan, Ok.; one daughter, Mrs. Robert McNemer of Fort Worth; two brothers, Cooper and James Colvin of Glasgow, Mo., and one sister, Mrs. H. T. McCrary, Kansas City, Mo.
