Broker. Son of James and Sarah Adams, he moved to Chicago from Rockbridge Co. Virginia in 1857 and became one of the first members of the Chicago Board of Trade. Married to Amanda McCormack, sister of Cyrus Hall McCormack, he was also a business associate of the McCormack family.
